I will bring excellence to our Board’s communication.
Communication is the key to any and every great relationship, whether it’s with our children, our teachers, our principals, or our District leadership. As your Board member, I will work to make GUSD communications relevant and responsive to family concerns, ensure advance notice for program changes, and prioritize honest and ethical communications around budget, contract negotiations, and other major Board decisions.
Trust is built on a foundation of clearly communicated goals and the steps we will take to meet them. I believe our parents and the community have become separated from the happenings of the Glendale Unified School District Board, leaving teachers and students caught in the middle.
In order for the Board to help direct the district and each school to meet the stated Board priorities of providing each child a safe and equitable education, I want to make sure sure everyone is back on the same team. Last-minute changes, arguments over settled policy, contentious negotiations and confusing program rollouts do not serve our children, educators, or GUSD community.
As a businessperson and busy mom, I know the best way to restore our community’s faith in the District is through clear, effective, informative, truthful, and accessible information around issues that matter to parents (budget, health and safety, curriculum, childcare, etc.) as well as what is coming down the line.
